Religious art or sacred art is artistic representation done by using religious inspiration and topics and is often designed to unfold the mind to the spiritual.

As an example, Christian divine art is produced in an attempt to illustrate, supplement and demonstrate the principles of Christianity. Whereas, Buddhist art invented on the Indian subcontinent following the historical life of Siddhartha Gautama and so on with other religions like Hinduism, Islamic etc. Painting can be anything, either water painting, oil, acrylic etc., however, the subject or idea or intention of the art being drawn on canvas is always religious and devotional.
